Emily & Eric’s Rancho Mirando Wedding

Emily and Eric’s wedding day at Rancho Mirando was full of incredible moments. As a couple who started dating in high school, with close-knit circles of friends from college, high school, and before, there were a million special moments and personal touches that made their day beautiful and unique.

The expression of love from everyone in their life was one of our favorite parts.

Especially the toasts. From pre-school best friend/Maid of Honor Nicole, older brother/best man Justin and wonderful host/father Al. Nicole’s toast was particularly touching. She talked about how Emily had become her best friend in Kindergarten – known henceforth as ‘Emily’s Tall Friend,’ they were inseparable. When they were separated in first grade (to reduce the workload on their respective teachers), they got secret pen pals to get to know the other class better. They figured out they were paired together after the first message. As they grew up together, they then became roommates, now with Eric, and Nicole recounted first hand that she knew Emily had found her match when she could hear them giggling together from the other room at all hours of the day and night.

She finished her speech by announcing that she was “happy to pass the torch” of being Emily’s best friend on to Eric, someone who could make her laugh even when she didn’t want to. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

Emily’s father went on to talk about everything that Emily and Eric had accomplished in their time on earth (and together) – he and everyone else were so, so proud of Emily’s work with children and adults with special needs and Eric’s career as an engineer, the support felt for them in the room was palpable. Another moment with a lot of tears.

These two have been best friends for such a long time. They have their own little family with CJ and their cats! Going into marriage and this new season with their little family and their best friendship, you know it’s going to be happily ever after.
