It’s hard to pick favorites when everything in the Texas Hill country is so easily beautiful! The backdrop is so beautiful it’s definitely hard to go wrong.
Over the last 3 years of shooting weddings on the reg, we have come to find a handful of favorites that are near and dear to us!
I’ll go into the specifics of each Texas hill country venue, but here are some of the things that make all of these amazing:
01. A wonderful staff.
Because as vendors, the next people we’re working most closely with aside from our couple are the other vendors! When either the venue owners or coordinators are amazing people, it’s easy to love the venue!
02. Conducive for great light and beautiful photos.
Like I said before, the Texas hill country is always a beautiful backdrop, but these venues add more! And the way they’re set up, lit and arranged highlight that beautiful backdrop. Usually this means the venue has white walls (no color casting!) or a ceremony site directed away from the sun during sunset. Things that make it a beautiful place to shoot !
So now here are our favorite Texas Hill country venues!
#1. Springdale Station
Springdale Station is such a unique space and a very amazing wedding venue! It’s not technically in the hill country (aka Dripping Springs area), but I don’t think that’s a con in any way.
In fact, one of the things that makes it so unique is that it’s in Central East Austin!
So let’s talk about the white walls. White walls reflect back the white light from our flashes and allow for clean, non casted lighting on your reception photos. They are the best option photo wise. Springdale Station has a beautiful white walled room that is to die for.
Also, side note, if you wanted to say, light up that white room with pink lights and have a pink room for dancing I think that’s a great idea…if you’re not convinced that’s what Bob and Johnny did and look at the magic it created! Plus I’d like to just live in a pink neon world, wouldn’t we all?
Getting side tracked. The backyard is beautiful and has a gorgeous giant tree that looks gorgeous in the spring and fall!
Another fun fact and feature: it’s built from a historic train station! There’s still a little ticket booth window inside, and you can have your send off along the train tracks!
You can find out more about Springdale Station at their website here!
Also, you can see Bob & Johnny (aka Brandon and Jenny)’s wedding here. And Aynne and Aidan’s wedding day here!
#2 The Farmhouse
Stay with me here because I know my second favorite is also not technically a Texas hill country venue!
But this modern farmhouse style venue has beautiful white walls and expert clean lighting !
But I have to give The Farmhouse a shoutout because it is so stunning! Honestly the very best wedding venue you can choose is one that was built for weddings.
The acoustics are perfect in the chapel, there’s a separate chapel in the first place because Texas is so dang hot. It’s big enough to hold all your guests. The bridal suite was made to be a bridal suite and that is invaluable!
Seriously, it could hold like twelve girls. And they could all see the mirror, and it’s perfectly lit. It’s a dream.
The outdoor area has astroturf which just makes my heart happy. So when it pours the night before your wedding but the day of it’s gorgeous out (Texas, amirite?) you can still have your ceremony outside because you don’t have to worry about mud. Genius!
Also I have to mention…The Farmhouse reminds me a lot of our venue that we chose, Sunset Ranch!! That might be why it has such spot in my heart. I’ll be talking all about that tomorrow…stay tuned!

#3. Antebellum Oaks
Good news, Antebellum Oaks is actually in the Texas Hill Country.
Obviously, the oak trees are to die for. They are such a beautiful backdrop to any ceremony. It doesn’t get more beautiful than that !
Overall though, this venue is huge. It’s nice and big and open. There are lots of beautiful windows that keep the vibe going seamlessly from indoor to outdoor. They just slide open!
I love that they have a separate house for the bridal suite. The guys also get a cute outdoor/indoor area out by the pool.
There’s a separate little area that’s perfect for cocktail hour area. It’s got that adorable string lighting.
Not to mention, the owners care so much about this venue and are so sweet. It makes a huge difference when the people in charge care so much! It guarantees a great wedding day.

#4. Rancho Mirando
Rancho Mirando is a luxury guest ranch that is fit for a long weekend wedding. They have lodging on site which makes it perfect for big families traveling from out of town!
They really do have the best view of the hill country, especially at the outdoor ceremony site.
The getting ready house has everything you need, and everywhere you turn is a beautiful scene ready for a photo!
The absolute best part of this venue are the lavender fields. No, you’re not in the south of France. You’re in the Texas hill country!! But it will definitely feel like it!
Also have to talk about the owners. Leslie is the best coordinator and really cares about her couples and their day!!! She is always such a joy to work with!
You can find out more about Rancho Mirando at their website here!
Also, you can see Emily and Eric’s wedding day here! And you can see Emily’s bridal session at Rancho Mirando here!
#5. Mercury Hall
Mercury Hall, a lot like Springdale Station, is located in Austin proper which is a huge plus!
It’s also historic! It has beautiful stained glass windows and authentic hardwood floors. It’s such a beautiful space!
I also love the outdoor ceremony option! But the white walls and ceiling inside make it perfect for an indoor ceremony as well.
There are so many different spots for photos as well. You get a good mix of natural, outdoors feel and the cute architecture as well.!

Also, you can see Zack and Rachel’s wedding day here! And you can see Rachel’s bridal session at Mercury Hall here!
#6. The Creek Haus & Vista West Ranch
There is something to say about a well oiled machine! And that is what you get when you’re at the Creek Haus or Vista West Ranch.
I grouped them together because they have a very similar feel, and they are sister venues! So the amenities you get are similar at either place.
They both have a perfect mix of rustic, homey feeling with a modern, boho touch.
Coordinate This and the Petal Pushers often work out there and both do amazing work! We love Lori from Coordinate this, she’s always amazing to work with!
The Creek Haus has the beautiful water and waterfall, as well as the huge rolling field which is such a dream.
Vista West Ranch is a tall grass lovers dream! The building itself is so cool. It’s got a beer garden for the guys at the beginning of the day, as well as during cocktail hour!
