New Venue: Woodbine Mansion
I first came across Woodbine Mansion when McKenzie wanted to have her bridal session there! She actually discovered it, and up until then I had never heard of it! Come to find out that they opened up in June – it’s practically brand new! Despite the fact that the house is from 1895…!
I can’t share McKenzie’s session yet (just a few more weeks!!) but I was so in love with Woodbine Mansion that I had to go back. It’s such a beautiful space and huge!! When I went back solely to shoot the space, I was there for a whole hour just wandering around! Maddie was so sweet to let me come back and to show me around!
I really can’t wait to show you McKenzie in her dress at the venue because she is lovely!! But until then, let me share the space with you! And some of the things we learned about Woodbine Mansion!
This gorgeous, timeless mansion was recently converted to a wedding venue up in Round Rock, just north of Austin. I didn’t know that it had a special place in the heart of Round Rock. It was built in 1895 and it’s a Texas historical landmark!! Woodbine Mansion is family owned (!!) which is amazing! We always love working with local businesses, and when venue owners care so much about their space it makes the experience that much better!
Outside we were struck by the largest magnolia tree in Texas (WHAT?!) which is crazy. There are a few that are HUGE, but one in particular is taller than the mansion! It’s like its own little magnolia house! The outside of the venue and the grounds were stunning, well maintained, and felt like they went on forever!! There was also a super cute gazebo outside next the outdoor ceremony space, under the shade of some big beautiful trees!
The inside was where I really fell in love with the property: there were a million details, big and small, in every single room that gave it the feel of an extremely well thought and well cared for space. There are twenty seven chandeliers in the house, most of them original!! The rooms on the bottom floor have different colored painted ceilings. One room in the front has a pink ceiling which is my new favorite thing!
I love all the fireplaces and the details on top of them. There are so many pretty candelabras with little crystal details. The bridal suite is to die for! The baby blue wallpaper and pink furniture make it just gorgeous. There’s a huge walk through bathroom with little lockers for your things and a whole room dedicated to hair and make up! It’s so well thought out!
And I have to talk about the groom’s suites…yes there are two of them!! They get so much room!!! It’s common that venues priorities the bridal suite over the groom’s (makes sense, really!) but sometimes the guys get crammed into a real tiny room with no natural light! These rooms have so many awesome details and look so cool. I want to hang out in there myself!
I could talk more and more about how beautiful Woodbine Mansion is, but really I should just show you! You can see all my favorite parts of the venue below!
