Olde Dobbin Station Bridal Session
Paige & Chris
I could go on and on about how beautiful this Olde Dobbin Station bridal session is. How perfect the weather was, how wonderful all the details, and that bouquet…! But really this bridal session was so special to me because of the bride.
Paige and I met 5 years ago. Her (now husband what what?!) Chris and AJ were in the same fraternity. We bonded very quickly as we were both dealing with long distance, started in high school relationships, we both were studying art, and loved to pull shenanigans at said fraternity parties.
Fast forward to 2 years from then, and when Paige took the leap to go to San Marcos to study art, we were roommates for a short while! Nothing made me happier than seeing her pursue her art and getting to hear all about her thesis and her work. We have one of her thesis pieces in our dining room!
Paige’s wedding day was chock full of so many important, carefully contrived details from her and Chris’ lives. One thing I love so much about Paige is her combination of attention to detail, innate artistic ability, and passion. When you put those three things in a girl and make her a bride, you get one amazingly beautiful wedding day!
Paige wore her grandmother’s veil, which was even more meaningful as both her dad and grandad walked her down the aisle. She wore her new mother-in-law’s vintage blue earrings. The pins in her hair and her shiny new cowboy boots were her something new.
Just about everything around the venue was hand painted, hand written, or hand created by Paige.
Their triangular wedding arch was constructed by Chris. The rug they stood on was brought from their kitchen. I don’t know why, but I love the symbolism in that so much. They can stand on it, making dinner each day and remember how they felt standing on it in front of all their friends and family.
The most important, hand crafted part of their wedding day was their vows. There was not a dry eye in the room. Most of their guests had watched Chris and Paige grow up, witnessed them falling in love, and were now present to the promises they made to one another.
