360 Overlook Proposal

AJ and I got to chat on the phone with Lance a few weeks before he popped the question…! We talked about how excited he was and some logistics to make everything run smoothly! I’m especially AJ got to talk to him too because he has planned a proposal…I have no idea how!!

Lance also told us he was nervous to ask the dad!! That’s a big one and even though you know they’ll say yes – it’s still nerve wracking!! A couple days later we got the text:

“I asked the Dad and we are clear for takeoff. AJ was right, one of the hardest things I’ve ever done!”

Lance already had the perfect spot picked out: the 360 bridge overlook ! It was such a beautiful day and surprisingly quiet. Perfect for a proposal…!

So a little backstory on Natalie and Lance, because it’s too cute not to share:

Natalie and Lance met in Orlando, FL where their connection started with mutual friends and their love for family and football. Over the past four years of dating, 2.5 years being long distance, their love was able to grow deeper! They made the good times better and the hard times easier. Their fun loving relationship, common interests, and willingness to sacrifice for one another are what makes their love story so special and what brings them so much excitement for this next chapter.

Lance knows far too well that Natalie plans out everything and is a couple steps ahead of any idea, trip, or plan (a girl after my own heart). But, Lance was able to use this preparation to his advantage. When Natalie planned out a Saturday morning hike to the 360 Overlook in Austin, TX, Lance knew this was the perfect opportunity to take their relationship to the next level. Natalie wasn’t expecting the question on a hike she had planned. In fact, the night before they had gone to The Oasis where she had a hunch it might happen…! She got her nails done and everything (which worked out for the best obviously!!) and when it didn’t happen she was really sure it wouldn’t happen all weekend.

This is when being sneaky pays off because it was an even bigger surprise on Saturday morning and such a sweet surprise at that! Natalie couldn’t say yes fast enough to begin the rest of her life with Lance. I’m so happy we were there to capture it because her reaction was golden!

P.S. Lance said he got major kudos from family and friends for capturing the moment. 🙂

Also funny side note: AJ and I were trying to be extra sneaky and literally hide in the bushes without looking like creepers! But Natalie spotted us and our cameras (we were trying to play off as tourists). But instead of thinking something was up, she took a really obvious selfie to see if we would offer to take a photo of them! Obviously we were trying to stay really far away…so her plan didn’t work out. BUT surprise we did end up getting beautiful portraits of them as FIANCES!
