There had been a lot of happy tears tonight

It was a wedding chock-full of emotion; the blending of such energetic cultures deserves no less. Dinner had just completed. Aynne gazed up at her maid of honor, Achelle, as she offered a toast to the newlyweds. She talked about the growth of their friendship, from first time they met, just two hostesses with hard-to-pronounce names, to moving in together and becoming true best friends. Achelle went on to say that “the day was bittersweet,” only in that she knew she would no longer be Aynne’s best friend, because now she had Aidan. She knew she was passing Aynne off into good hands. At this point, Aynne buried her face in her hands and Aidan stood up and gave Achelle a tight embrace. That speech set the tone for the reception, and the night continued full of unbridled joy and love. Every moment was impactful; from Aidan’s father giving the world’s most energetic, enthusiastic speech (complete with props and more tears), to first dances surrounded by a tightly woven circle of well over 100 people rapt at attention. 

The most anticipated moment of the night came as a surprise, in the form of a small gift. It was delivered by some of Aynne’s family members and their new baby. Inside was a small onesie, which they unwrapped in front of everyone, smiled, and laughed. But when they finally read the onesie – they both literally gasped in shock. It read “will you be my godparents?” Everyone in the room had to wipe a tear away at their incredible, genuine excitement.

As if the night couldn’t get any sweeter

They had a special twist on their sendoff! Waiting at the end of their rows of family and friends and sparklers sat two adorable ‘just married’ bikes that they were going to ride off on at the end of the night! Aynne was a little skeptical that something might happen to her beautiful dress, so instead Aidan helped her onto her bike, and steadied her and walked her into the sunset.
