One of our favorite things about our couple’s big day is seeing how their relationship, experiences, and family have an impact on the way that their day plays out. We love seeing the little nuances, special moments, and traditions that are tiny reflections of their lives, and their new path together.

Amy and Taylor are frankly some of the sweetest, funniest, most welcoming and familial people we’ve ever met. It only makes sense that their wedding day was a mirror image of their incredible kindness. It was clear that they treat everyone in their lives like family. Just try not to talk bad about the two’s rival Alma Maters – Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State. Luckily, we had no dog (or Bearkat, or Lumberjack) in that fight.

UM can we just talk about how well these girls pull off the model face?? J. Crew is calling!

One moment in particular that felt remarkably special to us came during the ceremony. The expression ‘tying the knot’ is a callback to a Celtic tradition called Handfasting, where ceremonial ropes physically bind the couple’s hands together. This was a beautiful, sweet and romantic moment that we’d never seen at another wedding and it really stuck with us. It is absolutely clear how strong of a bond these two share, and it was beautiful to see a physical manifestation with that past a ring and a vow.

 

They had a guestbook filled with photos from our engagement session!! It was so stinking sweet!

Dear Amy and Taylor: We can’t tell you enough how grateful we are to have gotten to know you over the past few months. Ever since your engagement session, when you and your families welcomed us in with open arms, we have felt so blessed to have known y’all and to have had a role in your wedding day!
