A few weeks before the wedding, we met up to have Rachel’s Mercury Hall bridal session! One of my favorite, older traditions is having a bridal session. It’s definitely a Southern tradition too! Speaking from a wedding vendor perspective, a bridal session really helps out the timeline day of! It means plenty of time to get the perfect bridal portraits prior to the actual wedding day! Day of, we didn’t need to squeeze it into their already packed morning! We got to have the most dreamy, golden hour light!! And Rachel’s mom got a beautiful canvas printed from this session to display at the wedding! Win win!!
Now speaking as a bride (or future bride I guess! 🙂 A bride who can dream!!) There’s something so magical about getting to put on your dress once more! And getting to imagine what the big day will be like! For that reason, I really love to have bridal at the wedding venue. Mercury Hall was so sweet to open their beautiful doors to us!! It also allows for visual consistency in an album! You won’t even notice that these portraits were taken on a totally different day! And for me, it helps me plan where to do things like the first look and full bridal party portraits! Day of, I already have a great sense of the space! 🙂
Needless to say, Rachel absolutely killed it!
Bridal sessions can sometimes feel awkward. You’re the only one dressed up, the spotlight is all on you…no pressure! But having a squad there totally diffused all of that for Rachel! Bridal bouquet in hand, she was absolutely stunning strolling through the halls and outdoor pathways. She had her mom there to make her laugh. And her lifetime bff/match-maker/officiant came to help fluff her dress! (More on that here!)
