There were a couple signs that Ashley and Braden were going to be an absolutely awesome couple to work with, and the first one came before we even met up for our engagement shoot! We’d been watching the weather all weekend, nervous about chances of thunderstorms that fluctuated between 40% and 80%. So we emailed the happy couple to confirm they still wanted to drive the 45 minutes the venue and we received back an exuberant “heck yes!”

We should have warned them beforehand that we we were going to be starting their engagement session with some cardio. We started the session at the River House on the Pedernales by walking down the beautiful natural path that leads straight to the river – it turned out to be a little tougher than expected – and this was before taking a single photo! They were absolute troopers, and their willingness to explore with us quickly set the standard for the day as a whole. Not only were they fun-loving, easy going, and quick to take to our process, most of the best ideas were theirs! They were eager to jump into a rock crevasse (not a deep one, of course), or sit in tall grass that (I learned the hard way) was rife with ant piles. This is the kind of adventurous spirit that we love and value in our couples, and Ashley and Braden embodied it perfectly.

Ashley and Braden, thank you for adventuring with us and for letting us capture your joyful spirits! We had so much fun exploring with you two. September is going to come sooner than we both think, but it sounds like y’all are totally ready! We’re ready too. We can’t wait for your wedding day to come so we can do this all over again!!
