Paige & Nikhil
Paige Vaughn was one of our first real friends in the wedding industry after I went full-time for my business. We met when she was participating in a panel (#bossbabe alert) for The Rising Tide on the power of social media for small businesses. When we found out we both had corgis, we knew we needed a Yard Bar happy hour ASAP! That was all the way back in February 2018, and we’ve all been super close since then. Paige was part of one of the most important moments in my life (helping AJ coordinate our proposal), so imagine how excited I was when AJ turned to me and said…
“Nikhil wants to know when we’re available to shoot….him proposing to Paige. On New Years Eve. With all her friends around, in our favorite place on earth… Austin.”
WE WERE SO EXCITED! I honestly had to put it straight out of my head whenever I saw her to make sure I didn’t spill the beans!!
In the weeks leading up to NYE, I tried to casually put out our plans to throw Paige off the scent! We were still throwing a party but it was NYE, nothing suspicious 🙂
Paige’s friend Chelsea was planning a (pretend) early birthday dinner and she asked for Paige’s help! Nikhil was going to help Chelsea’s fiancé Clayton “cook” while they “got ready” (well actually got ready!!) for the “party”…!
See how sneaky this all was?? It felt like Ocean’s 11 getting everything into place!!
Cut to Chelsea and Paige finishing up getting their hair and make up done. Chelsea remembers she has to go to Trader Joe’s like right now because she forgot something for tonight! So she drives up to Seaholm and then says she has to take a photo in front of the power plant… in honor of her birthday (of course)!!
Then as Chelsea and Paige turn the corner, there we all are!! Nikhil is right there, AJ is there shooting, and all of her closest friends are beaming and watching nearby! Then, Nikhil got down on one knee and popped the question with the most beautiful sparkly ring from Brilliant Earth! And the rest is history!!
We’re so, so excited that we got to “return the favor” for Paige and be an integral part of her most special moment!!! We love Paige and Nikhil so much, they’re such important part of our lives and it means so much to have been there when he asked. We love you guys!!
