“This is going to be the best Catholic wedding you’ve ever attended.” The parishioners laughed. This would be a strong praise from almost anyone, but the Priest was near-jubilant in the words with which he described Chris and Nicole, beaming in the front row. He went on to discuss both their incredible devotion to their faith and general theological study, which is a huge part of both their lives in and out of their relationship. Towards the end of his talk, he said that Chris wanted to share a verse for the occasion from his own study, that went as follows: “there is no greater love, than that of laying down your life for a friend.” While this could mean a lot of different things, we interpreted it as Chris wanting to relay that true love was selfless and sacrificial in nature. That love could be laying down your time and energy to impact the well-being of another person. It was a message that was clearly representative of Chris and Nicole’s love for one another, their friends, and their family.

We first got to witness this love early in the morning. I got to see first-hand interactions between Nicole and her bridesmaids; they were so eager to do whatever they could to help or positive impact her day or happiness. AJ, at the same time, got to witness a special prayer led by Chris (the best man, also a member of the clergy) over the groomsmen which touched on the sanctity of the day, and asked for Chris and Nicole’s union to be protected and watched over.

It was such an honor to meet your family and your best friends, and see how much love and support surrounds you both! We hope this next chapter of your love story is full of as many beautiful memories as your wedding day!
