AJ and I were excited to come to Lauren & Xavier’s hometown near the Heights in Houston! We spent the evening venturing around where they currently live. This was our first time shooting in Houston! Even though AJ was born there and most of his extended family lives there, and we’re there at least 4 times a year.

I have to start out by saying they are the sweetest, most accommodating people ever! We felt so at home in Houston!

Xavier is an architect and an amazing designer, and created a little map of the park with quick photos they had taken so I could see beforehand! It was so thoughtful!! And it helped us make sure we could hit three different spots in our time together!

We started right outside their apartment in what honestly looked like the set of a rom com! Their wedding venue, Star Hill Ranch, is modeled to look like a little town. Just like a movie set! It was perfect. I loved it there!

Then we got to pop into their apartment and I saw all of Lauren’s amazing plants! She is the best plant mama – they’re all so happy and healthy!! She has a huge monstera that gives me hopes for my lil baby one day.

After that we headed to the park and AJ was our valet. The water was so pretty. Lauren brought two (two!!) bouquets that I loved so much! They were seriously giving me J. Crew vibes. I’m still so impressed with these two!!

We finished up at Eleanor Tinsley park which was gorgeous. The downtown Houston skyline was behind us, and the most beautiful sunset in front of us! There’s a beautiful arbor feature made of jasmine that was just beautiful! It was perfect!

We cannot wait to do it all again in November on their wedding day!
