I can’t believe we’re so close to the new year!!! 2020 just feels like it’s going to be amazing, I couldn’t tell you why! This is a lengthy post so I’m just gonna just right into it!

Changes a-comin’:

Rebranding in February 2020:

Over the last three months I’ve been working with Amanda from Carrylove Designs on creating a new brand for Holly Marie Photography! Amanda has been creating something that feels so personal to me that I’m really excited to share it with you when we launch in February!

To prep for the launch, I took branding photos with Alicia Leigh Photography and it has been SO HARD just sitting on them waiting to share!! Alicia is a creative genius and I feel so lucky to have her help in this rebranding process!

She really took my brand to heart and throughout our shoot she kept going back to my values and realigning us with the purpose behind the photos. I mean that is huge. And that’s why the photos feel so much like me and like us! I can’t thank Alicia enough.

New offering:

Also coming in February 2020, we’ll be officially launching wedding video as an add ons for our couples! 

Our goal in this offer is to keep the cost low and really have it be just that: an add on. This means we’re not going to becoming HMP+V or HM creative or anything like that!

We have found that a lot of couples wanted videography on their wedding day but had trouble finding an additional vendor and also one that stays within budget!

For now, HMP video add ons will be very simple (as in no voice recording, a 5-6 minute highlight reel) using really just the equipment we have. Like I said, it’s to keep the cost low for our couples and have this be just an added bonus! 🙂 

We have our first completed wedding video that I’m really excited to share…but I’m gonna wait until our big launch for you to see! So stay tuned!

Blog updates:

This will be the last blog post of 2019 as we travel for the holidays and gear up for the new year! In 2020 my aim is to blog much more often, mainly because it’s my favorite but also because we have so much going on in the first six months!! 

New series:

So we’ll be back again on January 6th, starting with our newest series: HM Favs!

I’m really excited about this series because at the core of it is me just sharing what I’m really excited about so…! And I’m so pleased with the response to it so far 🙂 I’m pumped to share favs more in the new year! 

Planning our wedding:

In January we’ll be just five months away from our wedding date so Let’s Cut the Cake will still be going strong!! There’s lots of new things to share!! You can see our list of what’s next here! 

More educational content:

During busy season this definitely went on the back burner but starting in January HMP will have some new wedding advice and educational vlogs and videos coming out! We did launch a youtube channel last year but it’s been on the back burner. So stay tuned!!! 

In general like I said: much more blogging! Amanda from Carrylove has helped me to make the HM blog a big part of my brand and business and I’m just ecstatic to make it a forefront in 2020.

Looking back on the blogs in 2019 (especially the Let’s Cut the Cake posts) I’m so grateful for all the personal posts I did and updates of the sort. At the time I either felt super vulnerable or just silly I guess for posting personal things but it has been so sweet going back and reading through the year this way.

If nothing else, I want to consistently blog in order to catalog the business and life with me and AJ for the years to come! Because my memory is getting foggier and foggier by the day 🙂 🙂 

2020 Goals!

YAY for goals!! I’m excited to share them because you can not see how far you’ve come without first writing down where you are!

Last year I had pretty simple goals like treating people well and growing in the community. I did double my audience in 2019 and I think I made our couples feel good 🙂 So that’s an accomplishment in my book! Here are some of my business focused 2020 goals:

Strengthen my HMP crew and give back to them

I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to reach people and couples, and I’m not going to take any of it for granted. 

We are so grateful for each and every person we’ve met this year through our business. Our couples, their sweet families, other vendors. Everyone has made an impact on us and our business and I wish I could give each and every one of you a hug right now!!

My goal in 2020 is to really give back to our HMP couples and unite our little club! If you’re a past HM bride reading this right now, I’ll be inviting you to something special in January 🙂 🙂 

I’m also steadfast on planning a meet up with our HMP couples, past and future and give them thanks for letting us be a part of their lives!! It will have to be after our wedding I think but I’m hoping in the summertime we can all meet up! I’m really looking forward to seeing everybody again!!

Put a cap on our number of weddings

Okay Holly but what’s the cap?? This is definitely not a S.M.A.R.T. goal at the moment…work in progress!

In the fall I had decided I wanted to limit the number of weddings we took on in 2020 in order to really be able to give enough love and attention to our couples. That is so important to me! I don’t ever want someone to get or feel forgotten about or lost in the shuffle!

Based on our weddings this past year (and also that we’re getting married and want to take two months off!!) I came up with the number 18! That just felt good and safe and it equalled to about 2 weddings a month (if we took those two months off – I know that math seems off ha!)

But we have 15 weddings on the books as of right now. So that only leaves 3 couples that we meet in the new year to let in!!! Some of our favorite couples are ones we’ve met within the year of their wedding date!!

So needless to say I’m a little unsure on that number. But I’m definitely going to cap it! Maybe just go up to 20? I’m not sure. I’ll get back to you on that one 🙂 🙂 

Other random goals:

• Rebrand in February 2020! YAY!
• Launch video in February 2020! YAYAY!
• Grow my HMP audience by 100%
• Return to and revamp our Youtube and IGTV channels
• Blog consistently and share more!

Here are some quick personal goals for me so next year I can see where I’ve come!! 🙂 

• Take more photos of friends and family and in general document life better.
• GET MARRIED!!!!
• Learn piano
• Start budgeting better! 
• Tend to AJ and I’s relationship and start out married life on the best foot!
• Establish daily routines that I stick to (barre, journaling, checklists, etc.)
• Workout consistently (I’ve already got an accountability crew 🙂 🙂 YAY!)
